Faustovirus Capping Enzyme (S17)
Faustovirus Capping Enzyme (S17) generates 7-methylguanylate cap (Cap-0) structures to the 5′ ends of uncapped RNA, which is essential for efficient translation of in vitro-transcribed RNA in eukaryotic expression systems. RNA transcripts can be capped in less than one hour in the presence of the capping enzyme, reaction buffer, GTP, and a methyl donor. Compared to Vaccinia Capping Enzyme (Cat. # 2460A/B), Faustovirus Capping Enzyme exhibits high enzyme activity over a broader temperature range, making it suitable for various 5′ sequences.
The use of the Faustovirus Capping Enzyme (S17) in the same reaction with mRNA Cap 2′-O-Methyltransferase (Cat. # 2470A/B) generates Cap-1 RNA, which reduces the innate immune response to in vitro-transcribed RNA when used in vivo.
