High-throughput pathogen detection for UTI, STI, and wound infections with the SmartChip Real-Time PCR System
To address the limitations of culture-based methods for detecting pathogens and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in urinary tract infection (UTI), sexually transmitted infection (STI), and wound infections, Takara Bio collaborated with a partner laboratory to devise a viable alternative.
Our collaborator developed SmartChip Real-Time PCR-based assay panels to provide rapid, sensitive, and scalable identification of pathogens in under 6 hours. This solution offers a commercially-viable alternative to culture-based techniques to give you:
- Coverage—detect more pathogens and antibiotic resistance genes with the SmartChip system-based UTI and UTI + STI + wound panels
- Productivity—analyze up to 72 samples in one run, without the need for preamplification
- Flexibility—add or remove targets based on detection needs, thanks to the flexibility of the SmartChip Real-Time PCR System
