Cellartis Power Primary HEP Medium citation list
Cellartis Power Primary HEP Medium is a specially formulated medium that maintains healthy, functional human primary hepatocytes for up to four weeks in conventional 2D cultures, without the need for overlays or sandwich cultures. Importantly, key hepatocyte functions such as albumin secretion, CYP activities, and CYP inducibility are maintained over the four-week culture period.

- Qiao, L. & Luo, G. G. Human apolipoprotein E promotes hepatitis B virus infection and production. PLoS Pathog. 15, e1007874 (2019).
Human primary hepatocytes were cultured in Cellartis Power Primary HEP medium. To determine the role of apoE in HBV infection and production, the authors performed HBV neutralization experiments by infecting the cells with HBV and adding an apoE-specific monoclonal antibody during and/or after HBV infection. The cells were maintained in Power Primary HEP Medium for four days, and then harvested for Western blot, chemiluminescence immunoassay, and qPCR.
