Advantage GC 2 polymerase mix & PCR kit
The Advantage GC 2 Polymerase Mix is specially formulated to amplify GC-rich templates. It includes the high-yield and high-fidelity Advantage 2 enzyme blend plus a proprietary GC-Melt Reagent and a reaction buffer containing DMSO—two additives proven to enable the amplification of templates with up to 90% GC content with minimal buffer optimization. The combination of DMSO and GC-Melt Reagent allow the amplification of virtually all GC-rich sequences that are resistant to PCR amplification by standard techniques.
For a complete kit, use the Advantage GC 2 PCR Kit (Cat. # 639120, 639119) which includes the enzyme blend, GC buffers, and dNTPs, plus GC-rich control template and primers.
The Advantage GC 2 Polymerase Mix and PCR kit are ideal for use with cDNA templates. For amplifying regions of GC-rich mammalian genomic DNA, we recommend using Advantage GC Genomic LA Polymerase Mix.
