DNA extraction from FFPE samples
FFPE (formalin fixation and paraffin embedding) is widely used for long-term preservation of pathological tissue samples. Such specimens provide a highly valuable resource with which to connect a molecular genotype to a clinical phenotype, particularly when DNA is not available from fresh or frozen tissue or when subjects are no longer alive. FFPE tissue is an excellent source of DNA, but its extraction can be a challenge. Takara Bio provides kits and reagents that are highly optimized for the rapid and effective extraction of DNA from either fresh or archived FFPE samples.
