CultiLife cell-culture bags
CultiLife cell-culture bags are gas permeable, transparent culture bags that provide a sterile, closed system for growing and transducing suspension cells such as T cells and other hematopoietic cells. The closed system reduced the risk of both culture contamination and user infection. CultiLife cell-culture bags offer improved cell proliferation over conventional growth in flasks, and their smaller profiles take up less incubator space. For more specifications and an example protocol, visit the CultiLife culture bags protocol page.

The CultiLife 215 Culture Bag (Cat. # FU0005) is composed of polyethylene and can be coated with RetroNectin reagent for high-efficiency retroviral or lentiviral transduction of hematopoietic cells. After transduction the cells can then be expanded into the larger GT-T610 (CultiLife Eva) bag (Cat. # FU0010), which is composed of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). Note: only the CultiLife 215 Culture Bag can be coated with RetroNectin reagent. CultiLife 215 cell culture bags are designed for medium to large-scale cell culture. Each bag has a culture area of 215 cm2 and has a maximum volume capacity of 300 ml.
CultiLife Eva GT-T610 cell culture bags are designed for extra large-scale cell culture. Each bag has a culture area of 640 cm2 and has a maximum volume capacity of 1 L. Once the cells are cultured or transduced in CultiLife 215 bags, the cells can be further expanded in CultiLife Eva GT-T610.

Scale up transduction of hematopoietic cells with CultiLife culture bags
CultiLife culture bags provide a closed, sterile, gas-permeable system that reduces the risk of culture contamination and user exposure to cell culture materials. A 300-ml format (which can be coated with RetroNectin reagent) is available for high-efficiency viral transduction of hematopoietic cells and a 1,000-ml format can be used to expand cell cultures following transduction. View our protocol and see how to set up your cell culture in a single small bag and then expand it into multiple larger bags.

RetroNectin Recombinant Human Fibronectin Fragment and RetroNectin GMP grade have widespread use as enhancers of retroviral or lentiviral gene transfer into hard-to-transduce cell types. Here, we present data on an additional application—the improved expansion of T cells from PBMCs and increased production of naïve T cells—using a combination of our products: GT-T551 T-cell medium, RetroNectin reagent, CultiLife culture bags, and anti-CD3 antibody.
